Last night during Habib Ali’s class on Imam Alghazali’s Disciplining the Self at the Knowledge Retreat, he asked someone to put into verse:
إذا أراد الله بعبده خير بصره بعيوب نفسه

Here’s my attempt:

When Generous God wishes good for me
He gifts me a great key
Behind whose door I can see-
All my faults, blameworthy.
