a man was deep in praise.
Allah.Allah.Allah.Allah.Allah.

a passerby heard him calling out
“have you ever heard from the one
you call out to so passionately?”

the man who was in praise stopped.
he was shaken into a depression.
he slept. confused.

he dreamt of alkhidr.
alkhidr said to him:
the longing you feel, the empty space inside you which you seek to have full, that is your beloved’s response. that you feel this tug- this force pulling you towards him, deeper and deeper.

do not stop your praise.
he will fill you til you are full.
